In September I took a train from Nice, France to Florence, Italy. Along the way you have to switch trains in the small Italian town of Ventimiglia. About 80 miles southwest of Genoa, it's one of a million small and adorable beach towns the run along the coast of Italy and France. What is amazing though about Ventimiglia is that less than a block from the train station is an amazing indoor market that is open ever day(although it is bigger on Fridays). If you have more than 25 minutes between trains there is more than enough time to run and grab a feast for the next leg of your trip. I love going to markets in Europe and almost every town has one but this one is special as it keeps you from eating bad food car provisions on your 6 hour jaunt.
